Youth Leadership Dawson County is a nine month program for high school juniors. Day sessions will be held the second Wednesday of the month. Expect day sessions to run from 8:00am-3:00pm with the exception of State Government Day in Lincoln being longer due to the travel.

September 11 Introduction of DAD, LDC & Leadership Principles
October 9 Agriculture, Energy & Environment Day
Prior to November 13 Law enforcement evening ride-along & attendance at a meeting of
elected officials such as a City Council or County Commissioners meeting
November 13 Local Government & Law Enforcement Day
December 11 Education Day
January 8 Health & Human Services Day
February 12 Business, Industry & Media Day
March 11 Art, Culture, & Recreation Day
April 8 State Government Day (extended day in Lincoln)
May 13 Volunteer, community & graduation

Nominate a local youth for the 2019-2020 Youth Leadership Dawson County class

Please note that youth do not need to be nominated to apply, however, all nominees will receive written notice of their nominations in efforts to encourage them to apply. Youth must be high school juniors at Cozad, Elwood, Eustis-Farnam, Gothenburg, Lexington, Overton or SEM high schools in the upcoming 2019-2020 school year to participate. Nominations must be received by May 31, 2019 for youth to be formally notified.
